What is Play Ready Golf?

Play Ready Golf, From the Two Guys Who Built It
There’s a moment every golfer knows: keys on the counter, shoes still on, and—if you’re lucky—twenty-seven minutes before dusk. Not enough time for “proper practice,” supposedly. Except… what if it is?
We’re Luke and Isaak, the pair behind Play Ready Golf. We didn’t set out to reinvent practice. We just got tired of watching good players waste scarce time, and new players drown in advice. Buckets with no blueprint. Simulator marathons with no plan. A whole lot of motion and not nearly enough improvement. You’ve probably felt that creeping question on the drive home—did any of that actually help?
Play Ready Golf exists so the answer can be yes. Consistently.
The Short Version: What Play Ready Golf Is
Play Ready Golf is a golf practice app that turns your recent on-course results into a four-week training plan based on the limited time you have—sessions you can do in a net, on a range, on a simulator, or on a living-room putting mat. We lean on strokes-gained across four pillars—Off the Tee (OTT), Approach (APP), Around the Green (ATG), and Putting (PUTT)—and translate that data into specific drills, time boxes, and difficulty levels that fit real life.
Put simply: you play, the app reads your game, and your next free hour writes itself.
What You Actually Get (No fluff)
A plan in minutes. Log at least three rounds and receive a four-week schedule with a session-by-session structure you can follow without thinking.
Practice time that mirrors impact. We allocate minutes by what moves your scoring fastest (not what’s most entertaining to grind).
Flexible session lengths. Every plan is built around the time you have and can be easily manipulated to adapt, because life… happens.
Category “Combines.” OTT/APP/ATG/PUTT tests in Easy, Medium, Hard, so you can measure, retake, and actually see progress.
Any environment, year-round. Range, net, simulator, or carpet—we tag drills so you’re never stuck waiting for perfect conditions.
Clear scoring. Make rates, dispersion corridors, proximity bands—all built in, so you’re not practicing blind.
We try hard to be boring in the right ways: fewer taps, clearer instructions, plain English.
How the Engine Turns Rounds Into Reps
Step 1: Profile your game.
Feed the app three (or more) rounds. We parse strokes-gained in OTT, APP, ATG, and PUTT to build your current snapshot.
Step 2: Allocate time with intent.
Our proprietary algorithm matches up your statistical profile, your available time, and your practice facilities to tilt the plan toward your best ROI while respecting diminishing returns. Big weakness? It gets more attention. Big strength? It still gets attention—just not a hostile takeover.
Step 3: Match the real world.
Drills carry environment tags (Range, Net, LM Optional, Putting Space, Course-Only), difficulty (Easy/Medium/Hard), and time windows. You choose where you are today; the plan adapts.
Step 4: Train like a learner, not a loop.
We blend block practice (groove a motion) with random practice (stabilize under variability). Expect work like Driver Corridor Randomizer (target and start-line variation with dispersion tracking) and Wedge Ladder by Distance (50-70-90 yards with win-to-advance rules).
Step 5: Retest and adjust.
The app tracks your progress, so when your numbers change, your plan changes. More time where it still pays; less where you’ve plateaued.
The Principles We Won’t Budge On
Time respect. Sessions in time intervals that make sense to you… because that’s what most days allow—between meetings, bedtime, and weather.
Signal over noise. If a drill can’t be scored or tied to an outcome, it doesn’t make the library.
Evidence with humility. We love data and biomechanics; we love simplicity even more. Tech serves the golfer, not the other way around.
Visible progress. Make-rate, proximity, dispersion, combine score—something you can point at and say, “That improved.”
Practice anywhere. Range, garage, simulator bay, putts on the hallway runner—skill work shouldn’t hibernate for winter.
Habits beat hacks. Pre-shot routine, start-line awareness, short and frequent wedges—small things, repeated, win.
Friendly intensity. Competitive structures without the drill-sergeant vibe. Come focused, leave encouraged.
How We Test You (and Let You Test Yourself)
Each category has Easy, Medium, and Hard drills. Easier sets reinforce fundamentals with forgiving targets; Harder sets have tighter windows and up the pressure. Scores become month-over-month checkpoints you can recreate anywhere.
Why “Play Ready Golf” Isn’t Just a Name
If you’ve got sixty seconds to start a session—kids asleep, laptop lid down—we want you swinging at second sixty-one. That’s our design rule.
Fast to start. No scavenger hunt for cones and widgets.
Simple to run. Targets, gates, distances—clean and obvious.
Easy to score. Checks, tallies, circles—done.
Repeatable. The same session means you know if you're improving.
Also, “play ready” means first-tee ready: start lines you trust, contact on command, a distance control you can dial up without guessing.
Where We’re Aiming Next
Near-Term Product
A dependable four-week planner that adapts quickly from your first three rounds and keeps adapting as your stats shift.
A broader drill library with better context tags (Range, Net, LM Optional, Putting Space, Course-Only).
A refined combine engine—fair, motivating, predictive of scoring.
Seasonal practice tracks (Winter, Pre-Season Ramp-Up, Tournament Week) that match the calendar.
A UI that stays ruthlessly simple: see the next rep, record the score, move on.
Near-Term Community & Content
Make motor-learning usable: short explainers on when to go block vs. random—and how to blend them.
Share session templates for 15/30/60 minutes that fit real schedules (pre-work, lunch break, after bedtime).
Demystify wedge systems and driver dispersion with clear, repeatable frameworks.
Celebrate measured progress with trend lines you can understand at a glance (no spreadsheet degree required).
Long-Term Impact
Improvement that fits into ordinary life. Fewer doubles from penalty misses, tighter approach windows from smart yardages, more up-and-downs thanks to predictable short-game patterns, steadier putting because touch gets trained often (and briefly). Not guarantees—priorities.
Design Rules We Live By
Minimal taps. If you’re fiddling with your phone more than swinging, we missed the mark.
One source of truth. Log the drill where you do the drill.
Plain talk. We translate the jargon so you don’t have to.
Progress over perfection. “Consistent and repeatable” beats “perfect once.”
Indoor parity. Winter should accelerate skills, not stall them.
What Makes Us Different (and Why It Matters)
Plenty of smart tools exist—strategy systems, coaching platforms, stat trackers. We love them. Our lane is narrower by design: turn your own results into your next hour of practice—automatically.
Not “practice more approach.” Rather: how long, which distances, what targets, and how to score them.
Simulator time isn’t an afterthought. We build with it in mind (including the sanity-saving tip to turn putting off and rolling real putts later).
Combines stay short, repeatable, and comparable—so small wins stack into momentum.
A Final Note
We’re builders, but first we’re golfers. We’ve both had that 25-minute squeeze before dark and the sinking feeling of “maybe I just exercised my frustration.” We’ve also seen what happens when you replace guessing with intention. A handful of habits—pre-shot routine, start-line awareness, a reliable wedge ladder, a brief pressure finisher—compound faster than people expect, especially when they’re easy to start.
Play Ready Golf isn’t about cramming in features. It’s about arranging the right ones, in the right order, so improvement survives real life.
We hope you are prepared to Play Ready Golf.
