Free drill guide · The 4 drills
Four drills. One for each part of your game.
Each drill gives you one score. Hit your target two sessions in a row, then move up a level. After Level 3, make it harder and climb again. One change at a time.

Wide Fairway 10
Ten drives into a fairway you pick. The fairway scores, the rough is free, and a penalty costs you.
Set it up
1. Pick a target line out where your drives land.
2. Pick two markers about 60 yards apart, one on each side of that line. That's your Level 1 fairway. From Level 2 on, make it 50.
3. The 15 yards outside each edge is rough. Past that is a penalty.
On a sim: use offline yards. Level 1 is fairway within 30, rough to 45. Level 2 and up is fairway within 25, rough to 40.
Play it
1. Hit 5 drives at your first target line. Full routine on every ball.
2. Switch to a new target line and a new fairway. Hit 5 more.
3. Score every drive as it lands.
Score it
Fairway is +1. Rough is 0. Penalty is minus 1. Add them up for a score from minus 10 to plus 10.
Your target
Level 1: +1 or better, 60 yard fairway
Level 2: +4 or better, 50 yard fairway
Level 3: +6 or better, 50 yard fairway
Hit your target two sessions in a row, then move up a level.
After Level 3, make it harder
Diameter: shrink the fairway to 40 yards, then 35.
Dice: then switch target lines every 2 balls instead of every 5.
02 · Approach · 10 min · Range or sim
Green Finder
Ten approach shots at three greens, one club for each. One point for every green you hit.
Set it up
1. Pick 3 clubs, like a 9 iron, a 7 iron and a 5 iron or hybrid.
2. Pick a target for each club at its normal distance. A flag, a range green or a sign all work.
3. Picture a green 30 yards across around each target. That's 15 yards on every side.
On a sim: play to the sim's greens, or count any shot that finishes within 15 yards of the pin.
Play it
1. Rotate clubs every shot: 9 iron, 7 iron, 5 iron, then repeat.
2. Aim at the middle of each green, not the flag. This drill is about direction.
3. Full routine on every shot. 10 shots.
Score it
One point for every ball that lands on the green. Your score is out of 10.
Your target
Level 1: 3 of 10
Level 2: 5 of 10
Level 3: 7 of 10
Hit your target two sessions in a row, then move up a level.
After Level 3, make it harder
Diameter: shrink each green to 25 yards across, then 20.
03 · Around the green · 15 min · Chipping green
Up-and-Down Basics
Five chips from five different spots. Putt every one out and count your strokes.
Set it up
1. Pick 5 spots around the green. Make them all different: short and long, and from different sides of the hole.
2. Use one ball. You get one try from each spot.
Play it
1. Chip from your first spot.
2. Putt it out. Every stroke counts until the ball is in the hole.
3. Move to the next spot and repeat until you've played all 5.
Score it
Add up your strokes for all 5 spots. Lower is better. Two at a spot is an up and down, so a perfect score is 10.
Your target
Level 1: 17 or better
Level 2: 14 or better
Level 3: 12 or better
Hit your target two sessions in a row, then move up a level.
After Level 3, make it harder
Lie: make 2 of the 5 spots rough lies.
Distance: then no spot inside 10 yards.
04 · Putting · 10 min · Practice green
Lag Putt Circle
Nine putts from 20, 30 and 40 feet. One point for every putt that stops within 3 feet of the hole.
Set it up
1. Push tees in a circle 3 feet from the hole, about one putter length.
2. Mark three spots 20, 30 and 40 feet from the hole. Pace it off: about 7, 10 and 13 big steps.
Play it
1. Putt from 20 feet, then 30, then 40. Repeat that order 3 times for 9 putts.
2. Never hit the same distance twice in a row.
3. Count every putt that stops inside the circle. Made putts count.
Score it
One point for every putt inside the circle. Your score is out of 9.
Your target
Level 1: 3 of 9
Level 2: 5 of 9
Level 3: 7 of 9
Hit your target two sessions in a row, then move up a level.
After Level 3, make it harder
Distance: move your spots to 30, 40 and 50 feet.
Diameter: then shrink the circle to 2 feet.
